The Supply Chain Manager is directly responsible for the effective management of: production planning, inventory planning, procurement, logistics, customer service, and supply chain process optimization working in collaboration with sales, operations, corporate procurement & Supply Chain, plant HR and finance functions at Golden West Baking ULC and CH. Guenther corporate policy. In addition, the individual will work with the supply chain teams across other business units. Duties and Responsibilities: People Management and development Lead the supply chain team members to develop a culture of continuous improvement Communicate with the team with a focus on providing personal development and work related performance feedback. Execute a strong Performance Management & Development (PM&D) Process to align with the business objectives and to support succession. Inventory Planning & Production Schedule: Create production schedules meeting the demands of the customers and ensuring instructions documents are communicated effectively. Manage inventory levels based on demand forecasts. Procure necessary raw materials and packaging in line with production plan. Ensure inventory levels maintained in systems are updated on a timely basis, within budged and accurate. Ensure effective inventory rotation and compliance with lot tracing requirements etc. Co-ordinate month end physical counts and close process. Logistics Management Coordinate with Logistics Supervisor on domestic, US and International freight requirements as well as 3rd party regional warehouses across Canada. Identify and act upon cost savings opportunities and service optimization through logistics partner network. Manage EDI related requirements Customer Service Oversee Customer Service function (order entry/system pricing) Ensure high level of customer service levels (on time delivery/accuracy) Report, update, and explain Customer Service Scorecard KPI’s Interact with customers supply chain function on an ongoing basis to optimize customer service levels. Other projects Ensure SAP accuracy and leveraging the system to support the growth of the company. Ensure team abides by the SOPs. Support company audit processes. Identify cost saving opportunities and customer service improvements, and be an active part of Participate on and lead teams to implement “best practices”. Support other projects, such a new product launches, events, etc. Minimum Job Requirements: Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain related certifications and professional development preferred. Experience: Ideally ten years of related experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility and accountability. Experience in a food (fresh and frozen) related manufacturing environment preferred. Experience coordinating a broad base of supply chain related activities required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: In depth knowledge of supply chain principles and practices. Experience in both a make-to-stock and make-to-order environment. Detailed orientation with excellent computer skills in Excel and Microsoft Office. ERP system experience – SAP or equivalent. ERP system implementation experience preferred Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of associates and ranging from entry level to executive level positions, from highly technical to non-technical personnel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to provide regular communication and education on supply chain performance related issues. Works effectively as part of a team to manage projects and obtain support and buy-in from key user functions over which there is no direct reporting authority. Ability to understand key business issues and identify/implement effective solutions to support the business. Strong sense of urgency to meet customer demands. Hands on and detailed oriented with the ability to identify and implement process improvements. Excellent negotiation skills. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work weekends as and when necessary.
