The Design Engineer will develop new products and enhance current products such as high voltage bushings. He will work directly with customers as well as internal marketing, engineering and operations staff to ensure the company’s key metrics are met.
A Day In The Life
Réaliser des projets de développement de nouveaux produits et des projets de fabrication sur commande de traversées haute tension et d'autres produits connexes
Vérifier et approuver les documents de conception, y compris les dessins
Guider et diriger les techniciens lors des essais de haute tension et d'autres essais de produits assignés
Participer aux activités et projets d'assurance qualité qui lui sont confiés
Participer à l'examen des processus d'usine, présenter et mettre en œuvre des idées pour réduire les coûts et améliorer la productivité
Effectuer des analyses de défaillance avec ou sans clients et rédiger des rapports techniques par voie électronique
Utiliser des logiciels commerciaux pour évaluer les produits
Travailler avec les clients directement par vidéo, courriel ou téléphone, ou par l'intermédiaire du service marketing, sur l'examen des spécifications, la recommandation de produits et le dépannage des essais
Visiter des clients nationaux et internationaux, des usines, des bâtiments et des sous-stations
Effectuer des présentations techniques aux clients en ligne depuis le bureau ou en personne sur les sites des clients
Participer aux réunions sur les normes nationales et représenter l'entreprise au sein de sociétés professionnelles telles que l'IEEE et la CSA
Travailler avec l'entreprise sur des initiatives d'ingénierie
Capacité à se déplacer dans l'atelier de fabrication et à soulever 50 livres selon les besoins (inspection des pièces, vérification de l'ajustement des pièces, essais de produits, etc.)
What will help you thrive in this role?
Une expérience en conception technique ou dans un domaine connexe est préférable
Le candidat doit avoir l'esprit d'équipe et travailler sous une supervision minimale
Bonne communication orale et écrite en français et en anglais
Posséder de solides compétences analytiques et de bonnes aptitudes à la rédaction de rapports techniques
Doit être familier avec les logiciels MS Office tels que WORD, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Le statut d'ingénieur junior ou d'ingénieur complet à l'OIQ est préférable
Une expérience des logiciels de conception et d'analyse assistées par ordinateur tels que Solidworks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Ansys, etc. est un atout
Il doit être disposé à voyager jusqu'à 10 %, tant à l'intérieur du pays qu'à l'étranger, et parfois dans des délais très courts
Experience in engineering design or related work is preferred
Must be a team player and work under minimal supervision
Good verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
Must possess strong analytical skills and good writing skills in technical reports
Must be familiar with MS Office software such as WORD, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Acquired status of junior engineer or full engineer at the OIQ is preferred
Experience with Computer-aided design & analysis software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Ansys, etc., is a plus
Must be willing to travel up to 10%, both domestically and internationally, and at times, on short notice
