Job Summary: The Principal is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing tax services with their Practice area. Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results People: Works within the Practice to develop new tax planning ideas to deliver to global clients. Supervises consulting and recovery work delegated to managers and staff. Serves as subject matter expert for Practice area throughout Firm and assigned jurisdictions/geographical areas. Works with other Principal’s within the Practice to develop growth strategies and initiatives. Assists in the general operation and administration of the Practice. Client: Develops new client relationships and works with Ryan global management team to expand the Practice to other markets. Routinely makes presentations to prospects and clients. Assists clients with sales tax issues as required. Value: Develops and executes tax consulting projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance. Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) and six to eight years accounting or tax-related experience in industry and/or public accounting environment. Superior organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines. High level of self-motivation and ethical conduct. Good client relations and communication skills: pleasant, positive personality. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Workday and Salesforce experience would be ideal. Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license required. Valid passport. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly or indirectly supervises employees in the Practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm’s policies and applicable laws. Work Environment: Standard indoor working environment. Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer. Position requires regular interaction with employees and clients both in person and via e-mail and telephone. Independent travel requirement: 10 to 20%.
