Position Summary: The EHS Specialist (Georgetown, ON) shall be responsible for supporting the overall development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for their 2 sites. The role involves program development, implementations, data analysis, reporting, compliance, auditing, incident investigation, and site support to help mitigate risk and promote a safe and sustainable workplace. Work You’ll Do: Collect, analyze, track and report EHS data including incidents, safety observations, near misses, and other metrics as required. Assist in the development and implementation of EHS programs of Hillenbrand programs, policies, and procedures. Manage EHS in a manner that supports Global Management System Standards and Frameworks (ex: ISO45001:2018 & ISO14001:2015) Implement and Monitor project safety plans, policies, job safety analysis, safe work practices, conduct hazard / risk assessments as required. Provide support and ensure all employees and contractors comply with established EHS policies and programs. Support site incident investigations including root cause analysis, corrective action tracking and WSIB liaise. Conduct regulatory reporting and coordination on Safety and Environmental incidents. Review and update policies to align with current legislation and best practices. Conduct, track and coordinate site training for EHS related topics. Manage and Chair Joint Health and Safety Committee programs as a Certified JHSC Representative. Assist with the development and preparation of safety communications (e.g. bulletins, safety advisory memos). Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects to reduce overall risks for people and the environment. Drive timely completion of action items stemming from incident investigations, audits, and regulatory visits. Support Hazard Materials / Waste Management Programs. Lead Emergency Response and Mitigation Programs. Interact with external regulatory agencies to support projects and ensure all compliance obligations are fulfilled. Play a key role in developing and continuously improving the site safety culture. Manage PPE and Regulatory Employee Occupational Health programs. Maintain safety awareness and a positive attitude towards incident prevention. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with hazards and safety guidelines. Inspections include but not limited to fire extinguisher, first aid, lock out tag out, PPE, equipment. Other duties as assigned. Travel: None Required Team: The EHS Team consists of skilled associates working together to Shape What Matters For Tomorrow™ by partnering with customers to deliver solutions for a wide range of applications. This role will report directly to the EHS Head of Americas. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or other related field. 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment required, multi-site preferred. Experience with interfacing with regulatory agencies on matters of environmental or safety compliance preferred. Knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and standards applicable to manufacturing. Competent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership skills and influence without power. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work remotely and on EST time. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
