Job Description RATE: As per Collective Agreement QUALIFICATIONS · University degree or College Diploma in Recreation Leadership or Recreation Leisure Studies; Therapeutic Recreation; Kinesiology or other related field. · Meet requirements of a Physical Demand Analysis (PDA) for the position · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing · Long-Term Care experience in the activities’ area is a must · Basic computer skills RESPONSIBILITIES · Identify residents’ needs and take appropriate action to promote their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being · Keep detailed and accurate records as required · Demonstrate courtesy, a positive attitude, responsibility and excellence · Demonstrate leadership, organizational and communication skills · Demonstrate excellent attendance and flexibility in scheduling · Communicate residents’ concerns and suggestions to the appropriate individual within the Home · Prioritize daily job tasks in order to ensure completion · Promote trust, respect, and cooperation with co-workers through open and honest dialogue · Attend in-services to upgrade or improve skills and knowledge · Work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision · Demonstrate empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care and services to residents · Carry on duties as assigned by the Resident Program Manager Time Type: Full time When you choose to build your career with Extendicare, you’re joining a team dedicated to making a difference.
