Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, BC is looking for a Groundskeeper to help maintain and enhance our oceanfront property for the summer season. If you take pride in nurturing landscapes, don’t mind getting your hands dirty, and enjoy seeing the impact of your work every day, you’ll feel right at home here.
This is a seasonal position ending in the fall.
What you'll be doing
Tending to gardens and natural areas: watering, weeding, trimming, and planting
Assessing plant health and taking action to keep things thriving
Planning and completing small landscaping projects
Applying fertilizers and other garden care products as needed
Operating gas-powered tools and equipment safely
Keeping grounds tools clean and in working order
Supporting the Maintenance team to keep the full property looking great
Occasionally interacting with guests and helping them feel welcome outdoors
What you bring
A love of outdoor work and plant care
Knowledge of plants and landscaping practices
Experience in landscaping or grounds care (an asset)
Physical strength and stamina for lifting, crouching, bending, twisting and spending and long hours on your feet
A sharp eye for detail and pride in a job well done
Self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks independently
Reliability and good judgment
Comfort working in all types of west coast weather
A can-do, positive attitude
