Role Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Analyst to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring tax compliance across our Canadian terminal operations, maintaining relationships with tax authorities, and supporting accurate reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Canadian tax legislation, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with local and global teams.
About The Role
Prepare and file annual T2 corporate income tax returns for Canadian legal entities.
Act as the main point of contact with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on all tax-related audits, enquiries, and correspondence.
Complete and submit Canadian and U.S. tax forms, including those required by CRA and IRS.
Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly GST and PST returns to the appropriate authorities.
Lead the preparation of tax reporting packages for half-year and year-end in accordance with head office requirements, including timely submissions on TRCS.
Collaborate with the Group Head Office tax team, addressing review comments on tax packs and providing supporting analysis as needed.
Support external auditors during the year-end audit process with respect to tax-related schedules, reconciliations, and working papers.
Assist with ad hoc tax projects, including process improvements, system enhancements, and transfer pricing documentation.
About You
Qualifications, Job Function, Technical Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA designation
3–5 years of relevant experience in tax, ideally within a project-based or capital-intensive industry (e.g., infrastructure, logistics, construction)
Enrolled in the CPA Canada In-Depth tax course program
Keen interest and desire to work in Canadian corporate tax
Demonstrate well-developed analytical and research skills, together with attention to detail
Superior communication skills (both verbal and written)
High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
Fluent in English.
Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
