We are currently seeking a talented Senior Electrical Buildings Engineer to join our Ottawa office. Working with a team of highly qualified, enthusiastic individuals, you will be responsible for managing projects of various scope, and developing solutions tailored to customer needs. You'll oversee the design, inspection, and implementation of electrical systems for multidisciplinary projects on office, commercial, industrial, municipal, airports, health care, government, and defence buildings.Primary Responsibilities Electrical Lead on projects to bring electrical designs from beginning to end. Electrical designs would include lighting, fire alarm, electrical distribution, emergency distribution and other small low voltage systems.Prepare the design of institutional buildings including education, recreation, health care, municipal, and commercial projects, as well as other types of buildings such as industrial and transportationManage and work the project from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to construction completion including tender and construction/contract administrationContribute to the development of the electrical engineering group's technical expertise to meet our clients' needsAnalyze and solve complex problems, identify appropriate work methods and guidelines, and coordinate project completion Maintain professional relationships with clients, and other departments within CIMA+ Prepare and reply to proposals in collaboration with the team assigned to this taskPrepare technical reports, write specifications and construction cost estimatesEnsure compliance to the quality assurance and control programInvestigate, survey and audit sitesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineeringP. Eng. license in OntarioMember of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an assetOver 12 years' experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector Knowledge and experience in the consulting engineering market and with clients in Ottawa and surrounding area (an asset)Strong knowledge of the Canadian building electrical codes and regulations Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) Bilingualism - French and English; would be an asset for this engineering role, as it ensures effective collaboration with our diverse set of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies nationwide.Knowledge of design of telecommunication pathways would be an assetKnowledge of drafting skills in AutoCAD and Revit would be an asset.
