Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? As part of a high performing team, you will ensure the operational and administrative effectiveness for RBC Global Asset Management, as well as support cost controls and operational efficiencies for the RBC Mutual Funds. You will be responsible for the valuation and reporting of unit prices for assigned Mutual Funds within fixed deadlines enabling the unitholder systems to properly calculate the value of client’s holdings and process mutual fund transactions. Enter, review and analyze transactions (i.e. unitholder subscriptions and redemptions, management fees, expense accruals, security trades) to ensure accurate and timely entry into the Accounting/Investment book of Record. Monitor and reconcile each portfolio daily to ensure that cash, security, and unit positions correctly reflect the client’s holdings Ensure corporate actions are entered into SS&C Pacer & EAGLE system and reflect all relevant securities and tax regulations Report daily fund prices and income factors to unitholder systems and external sources for publication Maintain security pricing file within established departmental guidelines What you need to succeed? Must have: 2+ yrs. experience in investment and securities industries Strong PC literacy, specifically Microsoft Excel spreadsheets including VBA/Macros and Windows applications Basic accounting skills Reconciliation experience Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field Ability to work in a team environment, strong communication, time management, problem solving, and attention to detail Nice to have: IFIC &/or CSC working towards Finance/Accounting designation Knowledge of Mutual Fund valuation and general ledger system, pricing/data applications Bloomberg, Thomson One Financial, etc. SQL, Microsoft Access or any relational database management Knowledge of the SS&C Pacer or EAGLE portfolio management system Trade entry experience – corporate actions, derivative transactions, etc. Security pricing experience with: Equity – Domestic, international, fair value pricing; Fixed Income (Plain vanilla, Convertibles, MBS, Strips, Real Return bonds, etc.); Derivatives - futures, options, forwards, swaps, credit default swaps, etc.; Others – private placements, warrants, rights, restricted securities, etc. What We Offer We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
