Job Description: Nokia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optical Systems Design and Verification Test (SDVT) engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and verifying optical systems and components of the cutting-edge fiber optic communication products such as 1.2 Tb/s transponders in a DWDM optical communication system. This role requires a deep understanding of coherent optical communications and practical experiences. Education & Professional Background: PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field or Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Key Responsibilities: Perform system-level and component-level test, verification and validation. Develop automation and conduct experiments to optimize system performance. Analyze and interpret test data to identify and resolve design issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of optical systems into products. Document design and verification processes and results. Required Skills and Qualifications: Good understanding in DWDM and coherent optical communication systems. Knowledge of optical system design and verification methodologies. Strong python coding skills in automation. Familiarity with Git workflow and version control systems such as git, github, bitbucket, etc. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience in fiber optical communication components, such as coherent transponders, EDFA, Raman amplifier, MZM, WSS, ROADM, etc. Ability to think critically and identify the root of problems A team player with strong communication skills Desirable Skills/Experiences: Experience in machine learning and large language models (LLM) is a plus. Collaborating in a Git environment Experience with optical testing and measurement instrument.
