From 2-4hrs work /daily
Contract Pedestrian Data Collector must be available to work Monday to Friday
between 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM daily.
Contract starts early September 2025 and goes until mid to end of November 2025.

Program Manager – School Zone Safety
Purpose
The purpose of the Pedestrian Data Collector is to precisely gather and document
pedestrian data at designated intersections, offering essential insights for the
Ottawa Safety Council (OSC) and the City of Ottawa. Through meticulous
pedestrian volume tracking, the pedestrian counter aids the OSC and the City of
Ottawa in strategizing the most effective locations and requirements for
Crossing Guards.

Duties and Responsibilities
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Previous experience in data collection, field research, or a related field is
preferred but not required.

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record data.

Excellent observational skills and ability to maintain focus during
repetitive tasks.

Ability to work independently and follow established protocols and
procedures.

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with data entry software or
applications such as electronic counting devices is a plus.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Comply with all safety requirements and wear all required equipment
(provided)

Maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.

Availability to work Monday to Friday; all AM (7:30 AM – 9:30 AM) and all PM
shifts (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM)

Availability to work at all intersections identified in your indicated
zone/teams/neighborhoods

Drivers license and access to a vehicle – essential

Effective communications (verbal and listening) skills in English

Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to a
work schedule
