What You Will Do:
The GIS Co-op Student will assist in maintaining and updating Geographic Information System (GIS) data and related databases to support utility and infrastructure projects. This position provides hands-on experience with GIS software, field data collection, and asset management systems. This full-time role will report to our Brantford office daily, with the potential for some remote work based on role requirements. 4-month co-op term (January - April 2026) with the possibility of extension.
Duties:
Updating GIS model and connectivity
General field data collection and perform field checks
Updating utility asset databases and GIS tables
Updating Drawing Index
Creating specialized maps
Involvement in special projects
Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
Enrollment in a Geographical Information System Certificate program or Engineering/Electrical Technician co-op program at a post-secondary institution.
Eligibility for a co-op term through your institution.
Proficiency with AutoCAD MAP 3D, ESRI, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude.
