Hours: Course may be scheduled to be delivered in person anytime between Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 10:00pm.

Rate of Pay: Upon hire, Human Resources will conduct a rate calculation based on completed education and work experience to determine the starting step

What you’ll be doing:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Teaching theory and practical application components of social service work as it relates to Decolonizing Social Service Worker Practice.
Foster sustainable practices for including Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Doing into education programming.
Creating a positive, collaborative, and engaging learning environment in the classroom that upholds the principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
Using a variety of teaching strategies most appropriate for the curriculum, delivery mode and students.
Using various techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.
Managing the educational environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience and student success.
Evaluating, revising and developing learning resources within the program.
Enhancing educational delivery and experiences using the College’s MyCanvas learning management system and other technology to facilitate student learning.
Applying College values and philosophy in work activities and interaction with others.
Using the College’s MyCanvas learning management system to present curriculum, testing and online activities.
Other duties assigned.
What you’ll bring to the role:
A minimum of a two-year Human Services related diploma in Early Childhood Education, Recreation & Leisure, Recreation Therapy, Educational Assistant/Support, Social Service Worker, or Child & Youth/Social Worker
Experience in and knowledge of First Nations, Metis, or Inuit communities.
Experience applying Indigenous pedagogy and epistemologies, and supporting the integration of Indigenous pedagogy and practices into the curriculum.
Three to five years of effective adult or post-secondary level teaching experience.
Demonstrated learner-centred teaching approach, with the ability to develop and implement alternative and innovative delivery methods.
Strong commitment to human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility principles.
Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, colleagues, and community partners.
