Your opportunity:
Rotman Executive Programs is engaged in an exciting expansion of its executive education business. The Business Development team is charged with developing new business opportunities in Canada and around the globe and expanding current program offerings to a broader audience.
The Associate Director reports to and works closely with the Director, Business Development with primary responsibility for the following areas:
Strategic Development and Growth: Based on an in-depth knowledge and analysis of market conditions and consumer needs domestically and internationally, determines organizations and markets where business development investment is likely to have maximum impact. Is charged with achieving target revenues and margins for individual programs.
Partnership and Business Development: prepares business development plans and budgets; identifies, pursues and optimizes new and existing relationships with client organizations; engages in complex business and price negotiations. Crafts winning proposals and presentations and offers guidance and support to help team members do the same
Relationship Management: Represents Rotman EP at client visits, events and conferences; maintains relationships with alumni and key clients.
New Program Design: Works with the Director, Business Development and faculty to develop new, client-focused programs and products that are financially viable and profitable. Oversees the work of a large number of faculty and other contractors and contributors ensuring that program design and content meets the needs of the client. Ensures that all client needs and objectives (such as costs, learning experience, appropriate venue selection, content structure, and other elements that maximize learning and consider health and safety of participants) areincorporated into program design.
Project Management/Professional Development: Works with other business development team members, faculty and others in the management of business development and new program design initiatives. Offers guidance and support to help team members craft successful proposals and presentations; oversees the creation of contracts and coaches high potential team members in sales processes and client relationship management
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Developing educational program curriculum requiring attention to very fine detail
- Planning and developing anintegrated multi-channel communications strategy independently
- Analyzing internal and external trends and recommending educational programming improvements
- Implementing program improvements and maintenance of program standards
- Overseeing, analyzing and forecasting revenue-generating activities
- Planning and developing educational programs and courses independently
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant, progressively more senior work experience in a business development capacity with senior level prospects and clients required.
- Demonstrated experience both nationally and internationally in developing new business, and managing new and existing business relationships.
- Experience evaluating business opportunities and preparing proposals and negotiating contracts.
- Experience in executive education or adult professional education field a strong asset
- Experience developing and managing budgets.
- Proven track record of managing large complex projects.
- Experience in entrepreneurial roles requiring creativity, complex problem solving, rigorous financial negotiationand model building and a sustained commitment to securing new business contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and superb presentation skills.
- A strategic leader with demonstrated decision-making skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability and experience working collaboratively with teams and managing/coaching staff.
- Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and critical thinking
- Political acumen, negotiation andpersuasion skills
- Strong organizational abilities, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- The incumbent must be able to effectively engage corporate clients, business partners, university administrators, faculty, staff, alumni and students.
- Track record of securing new revenue and business in executive education or related field would be an asset.Knowledge and understanding of executive education, program design, and delivery.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 19 -- $123,756. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $158,256. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
