Description
The Department of Paediatrics in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Analyst. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 5 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Working within the framework of the University, the Cumming School of Medicine and the Alberta Children's Hospital's policies and procedures, the Research Coordinator position is often called upon to make decisions using independent judgment and to give operating advice to the team.
This position reports to the Principal Investigator.
Recurring Part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Retrospective Chart Audit
- Review patient emergency records to extract data
- Set up the audit, creating variables along with the PI
- Determine what data will be required
- Create the database with the help of experienced team members
Data management for numerous studies
- Query development and management
- Coordination of query process and data cleaning for multi-centred trials
- Database design for new projects
- Database support for Team Manager
Project Coordination
- Protocol development
- Form creation
- Case report form creation
- Consent form creation
- Study planning and set up
- Study specific pathway implementation
- Regulatory document management
- Recruitment
- Site training
- Ongoing quality assurance process and documentation
- Liaison and collaboration with local PIs and coordinators
Data Analysis
- Analyze study data to extract effects (ex. economic effects)
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Masters Degree in a Health Science Related field required, PHD preferred
- 8-10 years experience
- A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Current knowledge of standards or practices used in the Alberta Children's Hospital research area is key
- Highly motivated
- Basic skills must include the ability to use REDIS and ACCESS Database proficiency
- Possess good written and verbal English skills
- Ability to work independently, and have demonstrated the ability to work as part of an interactive group; strong team member
- Highly developed organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
- A demonstrated ability to lead and direct others
- Previous experience with large multi-centre trials
- Prior knowledge dissemination experience
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required
