University Audit Services within VP Finance is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Assurance Summer Intern for approximately 4 months.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Internal Audit, this position plays a pivotal role in supporting the Internal Audit team in developing tools to improve future monitoring efforts and management insights.
This position requires extensive interaction with the internal audit team and demands the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Considerable discretion and confidentiality are a necessity as the position is privy to and works with sensitive, highly confidential information and requires the effective management of this information.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Data entry activities as assigned.
- Development of various dashboards using Microsoft Power BI for use by IA and/or management.
- Development of SQL queries for ongoing use by the IA team for monitoring and reporting.
- Development of dashboards and queries will be under the direction of IA management.
- Complete special projects and administrative work as assigned by Management.
POWERBI DASHBOARD DEVELOPMENT
- Working with members of IA to review, maintain the PowerBI dashboard environment.
- Using data from IA's staging database environment, refresh and update current dashboards.
- Based on guidance / specifications received from IA, develop new PowerBI dashboards.
- Data entry with multiple platforms.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI.
- Basic knowledge of Python, SQL and HTML/CSS is an asset.
- Be able to support the designing, categorizing, and maintaining SQL queries using industry-accepted practices.
- Demonstrated professional level of verbal and written audience-appropriate communication.
- Must be organized and be able to handle several projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated project and time management skills in an environment with deadlines and shifting priorities; ability to set own priorities, working collaboratively, exercising initiative, tact, good judgment and maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, courtesy, and respect in all interactions with internal and external clients creating a positive image for the Department.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- A general awareness of key University of Calgary's policies, procedures, and operating requirements.
- Ability to understand all key policies, procedures, and operating requirements (as provided by Management) and be able to apply them to the scope of the assigned work
