University of Calgary International under the Office of the President is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Global Partnerships and Projects Advisor.

University of Calgary International (UCI) has the responsibility for institutional international partnerships and program agreements, academic and development project that fall within the scope of our office, working with faculties, and staff to facilitate, develop, and promote international activities. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and knowledge of institutional process and procedure.
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Global Partnerships, the Global Partnerships and Projects Advisor plays a key role in identifying, developing, and facilitating international partnership opportunities. This position supports global initiatives by facilitating project proposals, overseeing agreements, and ensuring the successful execution of international collaborations. This role is responsible for advising faculty and staff who are interested in undertaking international academic or development projects and partnerships, monitoring applicable global partnership opportunities and grants, and participating in the application process for relevant global projects. This will include aspects of business development, project procurement, proposal writing, and preliminary project design assistance.
Global Partnerships and Projects Advisor will work closely with University Legal Services to manage a portfolio of global partnership agreements, track the agreement lifecycle, monitor upcoming expiration dates, initiate agreement paperwork, communicate with and guide all agreement stakeholders, and ensure that ensuring day to day international agreements and contract deliverables and expectations are achieved. They will need to develop a strong understanding of the University's mission/goals and how this role supports the mission and goals.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Support the negotiation, drafting, and finalization of international agreements, ensuring alignment with institutional policies.
- Ensure agreements meet legal, financial, and ethical standards, coordinating with relevant university offices as needed.
- Track partnership performance, milestones, and compliance to maximize impact and sustainability.
- Identify and assess potential global opportunities that align with institutional priorities.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to explore new collaboration models and funding opportunities.
- Support the pursuit of international projects by identifying funding sources, preparing proposals, and managing application processes.
- Develop high-quality proposals, concept notes, and supporting documents to secure funding and partnership agreements.
- Assist in structuring project frameworks, including scope, deliverables, and partnership structures.
- Conduct background research as required in preparation for meetings and briefing materials.
- Research and identify opportunities to collaborate with foreign post-secondary institutions, and organizations.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field is required.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- A minimum of 5 years in a role supporting international projects is an asset.
- Experience supporting legal processes is an asset.
- Experience working at a major university is an asset.
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and comfort with database use is required.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills are required.
- Self-starter and the ability to work in a team environment or independently.
- Multi-task and work in an environment with multiple interruptions
- The ability to deal with shifting priorities and remain professional in stressful situations is required.
- Highly collaborative and demonstrate an openness to new ideas and feedback and appreciating the importance of meeting clearly defined outcomes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
