The School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA), Division of Music invites applications for sessional instructors to teach the following courses in the Fall 2025 and Winter 2026.
Lectures for the Fall 2025 term run from September 2 to December 5, 2025, and lectures for the Winter 2026 term run from January 12 to April 14, 2026. Please see the academic schedule for additional important dates and deadlines.
NOTE: THE FOLLOWING COURSE OFFERINGS ARE TENTATIVE, PENDING FUNDING AND SUFFICIENT ENROLMENTS.

Performance Practicum / Junior Performance Project / Senior Performance Project
(Applied Music Lessons in jazz voice, jazz piano, jazz guitar, jazz bass, jazz drum set, jazz trumpet, jazz trombone, jazz saxophone, jazz clarinet)

Sessional hired according to a Letter of Understanding for Musicians One-on-One Instruction: The extent of duties shall be determined on the basis of the following formula: six (6) students, each with a one-hour lesson per week for one term (12 weeks) plus a jury shall be the equivalent of one half-course (1.0 HCE).
Course Description:
Applied instruction in instrument or voice.
Course Hours: 12-36 hours; for MUSI 462/562: 24-48 hours
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Significant performing experience in jazz
- Significant teaching experience in jazz performance and demonstrated ability to teach advanced students
- Strong organizational and professional skills
