The Information Technologies is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Electronic Technologist.
Reports to the Technical Supervisor of Com/Media. High volume, varied work. Range of routine to complex problems. Project cycle has peak periods with hard deadlines. Makes informed judgements pertaining to media system installation and repair. Impact of decisions range from the department to the Faculties.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
Technical Operations/Consulting
- Multimedia technical systems are installed, monitored and maintained effectively
- Multimedia technical systems are planned and designed to meet current and future needs of the UofC
- Problems with systems and services are resolved successfully and in a timely manner
- Technical advice and consultation is sought by others, and considered accurate and reliable
Project Management
- Technical projects undertaken are managed effectively, on time, on budget
- Multimedia purchases for Com/Media and the campus successfully meet current and future needs
Relationships/Collaboration
- Positive relationships are developed with staff and clients
- Productive liaison arrangements are developed and maintained with other units on campus, and externally
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Broadcast Electronics diploma or equivalent
- 4-6 years background in industry or another related field
- Well developed knowledge, both theory and practical, of audio, video and related control systems
- Sound, projection and control system maintenance and repair of A/V equipment
- Good computer literacy, Word, Excel, Access, CAD design, Internet
- If not already certified, should aim to complete the Avixa CTS credential within two years
- A valid Class 5 driver¿s license (cannot be a graduated license) with proven good driving record (abstract required)
