About the role:
You're a strategist with 5+ years of experience whose proven smarts, passion and curiosity have made you committed to helping clients understand and navigate our ever-changing world. You'll apply a number of tools and techniques to uncover, articulate, and architect clear and compelling strategies and unexpected brand ideas that carve out a unique and differentiating positioning for product and service brands. You'll also have an interest in behavior change theories that help inform various health promotion initiatives.
In addition, you'll work with creatives and technologists as a core member of a multi-disciplinary engagement team. You will provide business-relevant perspective on communication challenges, including developing an understanding of the market and competitive factors, identifying and prioritizing opportunities, and helping to frame the overarching story of a project, most often in a creative brief/creative development process. Ultimately, the job of the Planner is to identify insights and strategies that will inspire creative solutions that help grow our client's businesses.
In this position, you will work closely with clients, building relationships and fostering an environment of partnership so they see you as an extension of their team, someone they can reach out to and lean on when needed. You will also influence client's marketing or communication planning processes -- understanding user needs and market opportunities, envisioning new solutions, go-to-market and support strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all strategic thinking on integrated campaigns, including those that have a significant digital and/or social requirements
- Create consumer connection profiles/maps that provide insight into consumer behaviors and relationships with relevant media, channels and non-traditional connection points
- Lead the Creative Brief writing process (depending on the nature of the project)
- Provide inspiration and ideas to creative teams as they begin the creative development process; act as a partner and sounding board during the creative process
- Plan and facilitate integrated planning sessions and ideations both internally and/or with external participants
- Identify opportunities for clients to use digital technology to enhance their overall marketing mix.
- Develop brand architecture recommendations, and roadmaps that demonstrate how the brand can extend across relevant communication channels, including digital and supporting tactics (i.e. websites, social media content, search and social advertising, SEO, marketing automation, apps, media/influencer outreach, etc.) into one actionable plan.
- Be a student of the digital space, including emerging platforms, analytics tools and trends
- Conduct in-depth scouting into cultural trends, channel opportunities, competitive activity and distill into actionable implications and recommendations.
- Be familiar with widely used and emerging research methodologies, insight tools and media technology, channels and terminology.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years experience within an agency environment.
- Proven portfolio of work and success across strategy initiatives.
- Deep integrated planning experience. Has an integrated marketing mindset and can tell that story to clients.
- Strong relationships with creative, strategy and account leaders and/or teams; is a creative thinker, passionate about ideas.
- Design and facilitate workshop activities to engage the client team in a creative problem-solving process.
- Participation in client meetings, pitching and leading strategic vision conversations.
- Demonstrate expertise in multiple business strategy tools, frameworks and methods.
- Ability to tackle tasks establishing priorities and balance fast portfolio of work proficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
