Reporting to the Manager of CZT Polishing Operations, the successful applicant will assume a key role in maintaining and improving the processes used to fabricate Redlen’s CZT semiconductor radiation detector products.
Key responsibilities include:
Work within the Lap and Polish team to develop and optimize semiconductor fabrication processes including lapping, polishing, batch cleaning, and metrology
Apply industrial engineering concepts and Lean principles to reduce costs and improve manufacturing throughput
Provide manufacturing support to production technicians through troubleshooting of equipment and processes
Lead projects to purchase, characterize, and validate semiconductor equipment
Root cause analysis and application of 6-Sigma methodology to identify and resolve underlying sources of yield loss
Analyze process data and use statistics to draw meaningful conclusions
Summarize and present project results to stakeholders
Create and maintain process documentation (ex: Standard Operating Procedures) as well as technical reports
Plan and execute design of experiments (DOEs) for process improvement activities
Collaborate with other departments (R&D, Quality Assurance, etc.) to support new product introduction
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering role
Engineering bachelor’s degree in mechanical, biomedical, nanotechnology, material science, electrical, chemical, or equivalent.
Semiconductor, biomedical, or sensor device fabrication experience is strongly preferred
Hands-on equipment experience and handling of delicate parts
SQL database querying and statistical analysis using MiniTab or JMP software
Use of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience considered an asset
CAD software design experience considered an asse
Skills and Additional Requirements:
A very hands-on individual who demonstrates initiative and works well in a team environment
Innovative, with strong investigative and data analysis skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication
Great attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Able to manage numerous projects at once and direct daily activities to achieve results
Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000 based on skills, education and experience.

It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
