The successful applicant will assume a key role in developing and supporting a custom manufacturing execution system used for data collection, material tracking, documentation control, and equipment management at Redlen (the “Redlen Database”), as well as supporting other software and database development activities at the company.
Responsibilities
Collecting requirements by interviewing internal users and analyzing existing processes
Developing and supporting a .NET Windows application
Designing and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server tables, stored procedures, and views
Supporting production users by providing training and responding to issues
Assisting in interfacing with other systems/databases to share or retrieve data
Collaborating with many other departments of the company such as Process & Test Engineering, Planning, QA, R&D, IT etc., to enhance the functionality of the system
Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development
Experience with relational databases, such as MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL
Knowledge of database design, data modelling, and performance tuning
Experience with troubleshooting and supporting production users is an asset
Experience working with and supporting a fast-paced and high-growth manufacturing environment
Experience selecting and/or implementing a novel Manufacturing Execution System (MES), would be preferred
Skills
Expert SQL programming skills
Strong programming skills with at least one object-oriented programming languages such as C#, C/C++, VB.NET, or others
Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or others
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Experience with Python is an asset
Experience with RESTful API is an asset
Education
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000 CAD

The salary range posted above reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries, taking into account factors such as job-related skills and expertise, relevant training and education, and business needs. It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
