An excellent opportunity is available for an Accountant to join our team during a busy period while key team members are engaged in project work. Reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in delivering centralised group accounting tasks and providing financial support across multiple business units. We are looking for someone with: At least 2 years’ experience in an accounting role or similar A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed A solid understanding of core accounting principles and a desire to learn about our diverse organisation Our division provides operational accounting and financial services to RAC’s business units, contributing to the overall performance of the Group. We are offering a fixed term contract until end of September 2026. Primarily operating from West Perth office with an additional location in Joondalup, as well as the opportunity to work from home. What will you be doing? Completion of assigned month end/year end accounting processes for Shared Services and Group accounting transactions/journals for RAC Business Divisions Identifying opportunities for process improvement Preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations as per agreed timelines. Includes correct recognition and treatment of assets and liabilities Involvement in tax related matters such as BAS, FBT and ITR preparation and liaising with the Group Tax Team Involvement in internal/external audit and ensure allocated audit tasks meet requirements Performing other duties as and when required by the Group and or Operational Accounting Managers to ensure that the Financial Services team meets its objectives Adhering to relevant financial processes and procedures Offers the opportunity to learn and assist across different business units in the Group. What are we looking for in you? Experience in a qualified accountant role in a large organisation or division. Tertiary Qualifications in Commerce/Business majoring in accounting. Professionally qualified as a CA or CPA or similar. Management and Financial Accounting Knowledge of tax related compliance for BAS, FBT & Income Tax Returns Strong reconciliation skills Advanced Excel skills. (exposure to Power Query would be an advantage) Analytical and problem-solving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail. Engaging in effective teamwork. Ability to adapt to a changing environment. Developing and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders, and external groups.
